Grandmama and Her Pupil

I just love this picture. It epitomizes my mom. As a teacher she loves giving books to her grandchildren. Anna has taken great delight in this. She's already an avid reader especially of Eric Carle and Matthew Van Fleet books.
(I have to admit that one day last week I hid Anna's Dog book by Fleet because I couldn't bring myself to read it one more time that day. We had to have read it what seems to be a hundred times. But then it faithfully returned the next day with a fresh new uplook!)

Ruff Life

Winston has now become an object for Anna to place her toys. He's our gentle giant who just lays there and takes it.
Sometimes I forget how large he is in comparison to Anna until I see pictures like this.

He loves Anna so much that when she's not around he plants himself amongst her toys.

Dressing Up

Bathtime is always fun with her ducky towel!

I gave her an old headband to play with while I was getting ready one day this week. Kept her entertained. (I am not sure how all those fingerprints and kiss marks got on my mirror?!)

Anna loves lady bugs. I bought her this little outfit at a consignment sale before this love blossomed. Just perfect!

Playing Outside?

Last week we would have cringed at the idea of playing outside with the temps down in the teens at times but yesterday we were outside with no jackets on!

Purty Smart

On my birthday this week I found out I was "purty" smart! I won't say what Bryan was.

Oh, the wonderful birthday breakfast tradition!
We were going to try out a quaint french restaurant for breakfast but found out they stopped serving earlier than we thought. So the second best choice was Cracker Barrel where I had french toast.

Hot Tea on a Cold Day

With the weather being fridged I made hot tea for myself. And as soon as the tea steeped Anna woke up from her nap! Such is life as a mom! :)

A Person's A Person...

Some might remember from our very first blog that the big confirmation we received from the Lord in light of whether or not to adopt was the Horton Hears A Who book put blaringly in front of us. For Anna's first birthday we decided to buy her the above Horton pictures as a form of remembrance. When we originally ran across them online we had to get them especially with the colors matching her room so well. And a few months after the fact we FINALLY hung them!
